Top Trends for the 2019 Bride

2019 is only round the corner (eek) and Vogue have just released their top 10 Autumn/Winter trends that we've fallen completely head-over-heels for. These new bridal trends feature a mix of earthy, natural tones that are teamed with tweed, prints, silk and leather- but the most exciting addition is the brand new jewelled colours and metallics.

Now, although Vogue and Wedding Floristry seem worlds apart, they really aren’t. These changes in fashion and trends all filter down and it has made some really interesting and absolutely beautiful changes to the 2019 wedding scene, therefore changing up the floristry that brides are now lusting after.

Brides are now being offered a sumptuous selection of wedding dresses, with an added addition of colour! Yes, the fashion savvy bride can now choose from beautiful dresses in blue, lavender, silver and golden tones with the more conservative bride being offered luxurious dresses finished in blush and champagne hues.

Thus leading on to bridesmaids dresses…. Emerald greens, deep sapphire blues, warm mulled wine reds not forgetting the cool blues and pinks with a silver undertone too.

These changes in bridal fashion have now filtered down into florists having to up their game by offering up new and exciting arrangements, adorned with these wonderful colours and stunning new textures.

So, here is Eden and Primrose’s take on the 2019 Wedding Floristry trend:

BouquetsThe bridal bouquet sets the feel for the whole wedding so this has to be absolutely perfect. We are still obsessed with the ever growing foliage trend teamed with natural, soft pinks and champagne tones but for 2018/2019, colour has definitely made its way in. Make way for pops of blue, green, yellow and more. Don’t be afraid to add colour! If done in a soft and natural way with a hint of wild; this style of bouquet will set off your dress, make up, photography and tie your bridesmaids and groom in together perfectly too. We think this a trend that is going to take off massively and we are so excited for it!

Centre piecesCentre pieces have just got interesting! Goodbye clear glass, fish bowls and tall extravagant arrangements, centre pieces have been given a new lease of life.

A new romantic, chic, industrial yet whimsical and contemporary centre piece has moved in... with the use of cement teamed with gold, coloured cut glass filled with wild flowers, gin bottles, apothecary bottles, test tubes, gold geometric shapes and coloured candles- these have all changed the look and feel completely. This fresh new take on an old style is going take a wedding from feeling and looking beautiful to absolutely stunning.

Arches Floral arches have been on the up for a while now but have recently undergone a little facelift... in line with the 2018/2019 trend for brighter colours and a more natural, eco friendly finish- arches have been styled with pops of deep colour along with natural back drops, gorgeous garlands full of greenery. We have loved the arch trend and are thrilled that it's here to stay; this new look is so utterly understated and elegant it is sure to be a must have for any 2019 brides to be.

Hanging Installations and Floral HoopsLong gone are the days of huge floral arrangements hidden inside urns and buckets of flowers dotted around a venue. The big must have on trend arrangement that brides are lusting over are hanging installations and floral hoops! Both add a new and exciting element to not only a venue but to the wedding photography too. They are big, bold and adding a hint of colour or another texture to these will finish them off perfectly.

Installations can be big or small- a big installation hanging above the top table or the centre of a room really brings a room in and draws attention to the top table adding focus and definition.

Floral Hoops have a never ending purpose. You can hang them, carry them, you can use them as an arch alternative, a bouquet alternative, as a photo back drop for guests, as a unique entrance to your wedding or you can bunch them up to give a large focal point... the possibilities really are endless and as they are so easy to hang they can be moved around your venue (saving you £££ on extra decorations!) as you can tell we love love love them!

Flower crownsFlower crowns have been on trend for a while but each year they come back bigger and better. This year is no exception, they have been untamed and very much taken on the phrase go big or go home. They have over taken the traditional vale in head choice and they really do add a personality boost to any bridal look. We absolutely love creating these one of a kind headpieces, they are the perfect accessory for any bride or bridesmaids. They are also extremely popular for flower girls or even as a cute hen do accessory!

Table GarlandsSo our final top trend we wanted to share with you is table garlands. Now, its been the done thing for a great many years to have one big central flower arrangement on the top table but….. yawn! Over the last couple of years garlands have been growing in popularity but I don’t feel they truly get the support and love they truly deserve.

Table garlands are a truly beautiful way to dress a table. They are simple, stylish and are SO much more cost effective! They can be used for ceremony tables, top tables, if you have decided to have one long table for all your guests, for indoor weddings and outdoor weddings! The big colour trend is metallic so if you opt for silver dollar eucalyptus you can achieve that silvery undertone (but other foliage will also look equally beautiful and achieve the desired look). A table runner is so understated and compliments every flower, table style, colour theme the list goes on. You will not be disappointed with this up and coming look and I think it is going to overtake the traditional arrangement as it really is a timeless and modern look!

So there you have our top trends for the 2019 bride. What do you think? Are you a fan of the jewel tones or do you prefer the classic pure white feel? We'd love to know!
